Organically Grown Microgreens

Microgreens are young plants with just their first leaves set. Although small in size, they offer intense taste and colour and have also been found to be of a higher nutritional value then when it's fully grown. This makes Microgreens perfect for smoothies, soups, salads and garnishes.

We have been growing microgreens for a number of years for our CSA program and are now expanding as they have been growing well and are in high demand.

Microgreens are living proof that bigger is not always better; because the plant is harvested just a few weeks post germination the trace elements, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals are much more concentrated. This means we can eat a smaller volume of them and still reep the full nutritional benefits. Varieties on offer;

Radish (Raphanus raphanistrum)

Radish microgreens, especially the more coloured varetities have been shown to be high in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Radish microgreens offer a pleasant peppery taste. They are perfect to add both colour (deep red and green) and a crisp spicy flavour to salads and as garnshes. Raddish has been ranked alongside broccoli in aiding cancer prevention. 


Rocket (Arugula)

Rocket mircrgreens provide a vibrant green colour and have a strong nutty flavour native to the mediterian region, it has been very popular since Roman times.

Mustard (Brassica juncea)

Mustard streaks have lacy lime-green leaves that have a spicy mustard flavour often compare to that of a horseradish. Past studies have shown that that high antioxidant levels in mustard mircrogreens can reduce a variety of cancers.
